But this wasn't always my reality.
For most of my early life, I lived disconnected from myself. Despite achieving what looked like success from the outside—earning a master's degree in chemistry while working multiple jobs to support myself—I felt lost inside. I had no real sense of who I was or what I truly wanted. Everything felt difficult, and I moved through life doing what I thought was expected of me rather than following any authentic inner compass.
My nervous system had learned to disconnect and pretend. I lived in survival mode, reacting to life rather than actively creating it. The turning point came through a family tragedy that forced me to start asking deeper questions: Who am I really? What do I want from life? How do I want to show up in the world?
During this period of questioning, my oldest son brought something into my life that would completely redirect my path: the Anat Baniel Method. As I began training to become a practitioner, I experienced my first profound moment of authentic self-connection at age 38.
I broke down in tears—not from sadness, but from the overwhelming recognition of feeling truly connected to myself for the first time in my life. In that moment, I understood what had been missing: the felt sense of my own authentic being.
